Ok so Leann received a letter from social security saying her case was up for review she has been long term Bipolar and MPD she also suffers from extreme stress and Anxiety and she filled it out and sent it back and received yet another letter stating they need further information to make a decision given the nature of her condition- what is the likelihood of them taking away her SSI benefits and if theres an actual substantial risk what measures can she take to ensure this doesn't occur she has no other source of income and is very worried at this point thanks in advance

She should make sure she is following up with her doctors and their prescribed treatments.
Is she still unable to work ?

yeah she can't work and is worried she'll lose her benefits which would mean no money to live on at all and no money for a place to live for that matter

Is she seeing her drs regularly as recommended, and following the prescribed treatments and medications?
Usually the review is a normal thing every certain number of years. Just a verification of the persons status, just in case they did happen to improve or be cured.

Hmmm. I think getting to the dr appts and having them record how that person is doing is a pretty important part of the review process...
I don't know how much % of importance it is for the review. What if her meds need to be changed or a new med comes along??

She says they'd require her to be admitted to the Hospital under those circumstances and she is planning to get away from him asap however she'd still have an issue with transportation as she doesn't drive but, Yeah her inability to go to the appointments concerns me but her diagnosis hasn't changed though. just trying to make sure she doesn't lose her benefits cause once shes free of him she'll need that for her own place, food, meds etc.

You can use the forum search to search for "reviews" on this forum, that might get you more information faster, weekends and summertime make for fewer members online.

The first form she got from the SSA would have inquired as to when she had recently seen her mental health professional(s). A date too far in the past could have been what triggered the follow up letter. If it were me, I would make an immediate apt to see my doc/therapist. Many disabled people are not able to drive. We often have to rely on friends and family for transportation. We may have to pay for private transportation, take a cab, or use public transportation. It can be difficult to find quality medical care that we can afford to get too, but we can't afford not to do that.
