Default DDS cancelled my second exam-psychologist

Hi everyone.

I applied for disability based on Bipolar, PTSD and Spinal Impairment in 2011, in New Hampshire, was denied, appealed and denied on appeal. I now live in Massachusetts and filed a new claim in September 2013. I have seen a Rheumatologist at the advice of my lawyer and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in October 2013, along with herniated disks at L-5, S-1, radiculopathy and osteoarthritis. I also have been diagnosed Bipolar since 2002 and PTSD since the same time. Same psychiatrist for 5 years. I have a new therapist that provided Social Security with an 8 page report that was highly in my favor. The severity of my condition was severe, 2 out of 3 on the GAF scale. SS Disability Services scheduled me to see an internal medicine doctor, which I did in November. They scheduled me to see a psychologist this Friday, January 17, but they called and cancelled, saying that the report provided by my therapist in conjunction with all the other MD and Psychological reports was enough that they don't need me to see their psychologist.

I'm trying really hard to not look into this too much, but I have been fighting the system for 3 years now. I have worked 4 months since December 2010 and completely failed. I am 38 years old. My father, sister and brother have all committed suicide. My mother has depression, anxiety and fibromyalgia. I have decades of documented mental health issues, hospitalizations and severe injuries.

Has anyone else had the second exam cancelled and received a favorable decision?

Thanks so much!!

The cancellation of the psychological exam by DDS sounds like a positive thing to me. (Just my opinion)

I agree with Hopeless.....this sounds like a positive development to me too.

It sounds like things have been extraordinarily difficult for you, Agony. I'm sorry for all that you've been through and all of the losses you've had to endure. It sure sounds like you deserve a break and some good news for a change.

Try to prepare yourself for more waiting. It SEEMS like if the SSA has made up their mind on you, they could let you know quickly and get the back pay process started. They seldom move quickly. Don't let that discourage you.
