They're ready to give you a hearing date but have to find a date that works for all the participants such as your attorney, the ALJ, and any experts.

Write to your attorney and remind him or her that you need the hearing scheduled asap. The delays are often caused by the reps scheduling conflicts...

For a better idea on when your hearing will be scheduled, either check the hearing office wait times on ssa.gov or call 1-800-772-1213 and they can tell you approximately when. Average is 12 months with some ALJs as low as 8 and others at 18.

This is a remanded case from the appeals council, it's been at ODAR since 6-25-14.

In that case, I would definitely contact the attorney. That's well outside of the norm. Someone is dragging their feet.

As the OP stated, it has only just changed status this week. Now a hearing can be scheduled.

I'm not going to go into the details of his case, but you can certainly research old posts if you wish. There has been activity prior to this and taking that into consideration, the wait is not out of the ordinary.

I'm Thinking January or February 2015 for hearing, although 2 of my congressman are pushing for something, sooner than later, 5 months will put me at 9 years of trying, kinda sad after working 36 years in a row. My records come in boxes not files.
