Default Any thoughts how this could have happened?

I have been on ssdi since 2001 and i always get a 3 year review. Last april i got my 3 year review. It was the 6 question cdr and on the paper, it showed that my 3 year review number was now a 7 year review number.
Well today i just got the 6 question cdr form in the mail today. How could this have happened, where normally have a 3 year review to getting a 1 year review?
Am totally freaking out. I have a cage in my neck with a bunch of other bad discs in neck and lower back. Do they really think my health has improved from 15 years ago?

This month i did apply for a mortgage to buy a house. Could this some how have triggered SS to send me this form?

Am 53 years old and thought i wouldnt have to deal with this stuff for awhile.

Now today i get bombed with this crap.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Bobby

that is a very low number, the lowest ive personally actually heard anyone have. i dont know why they would send you another short form after just a year. my number is just a little higher than yours and i got the short form in june with a 3 year review date, which i guess means nothing now. its really strange that yours went to 7 years this time yet they sent you one a year later. maybe they are sending everone one ever year now? who knows.

Hello Echoes,
Nope the house is only around 5 miles from current house and its sad the only reason am even moving is because of my neighbors. They poisoned my cat and basically have a tailgate party every single day. I figured the best thing i could do is just move before i did something crazy.

I have been all happy about finally finding a house after spending 2 years looking and was looking forward to getting out of here by december, then i get hit with this letter today.

Last april when i got the cdr the coding in the letter had been changed from a 3 to a 7 year with a low rating and profile score of 0055. So i figured once i got thru that cdr, i wouldnt get another one for 7 years.

Now in todays cdr, my number is back to a 3 year with a low rating and profile score of 0024

My code for original approval is 7240 Disorders of Back (Discogenic and Degenerative)

I have not taken any schooling courses, nor have i went to work anywhere.

I understand they have to check on people, but why another cdr for me a year later, when i have been on ssdi since 2001. Do they really think my neck and back could have i proved since then? A healthy persons health isnt even going to be the same 14 years later.

On top of having high blood pressure, Afib, diabetes, i also have mental health issuses including ptsd which came about thru my neck injury from my job as a firefighter.

Are they sending me this cdr again, so they can turn around and hit me with another long form review which i went thru in 2008.

This just doesnt make any sense and now my stress is thru the roof and the happy thoughts of moving and getting some peace and quiet is gone.

Now i have to figure out how to answers these 6 questions again so soon.
Like have me and my doctor discussed if i can work. My doctor as already stated, no i cant work. My jobs in life have all been labor intense jobs, so i cant do any of them. I dont see my neck surgeon, unless i need another surgery. I asked before if i could come every 6 months or even every year. They said no, unless am having actually problems.
I spend enough time at all my other doctors as it is.

The other question is my health worse. I believe am a little worse then last year, but afraid to check that, for fear of it causing the long review.

12-18 month reviews are usually set up for people that first get ssdi and might improve.

Thanks for listening Echoes, you have been around here a long time and your help is always greatly appreciated
Thanks
Bobby

p.s. the one year when i had the full review, i actually sent ss a 1 year printout of all my meds, it was 4 pages long.

i dont understand it either.

if your health is worse check that its worse.

https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0440502001

go almost to the bottom of the page to this section (about 1/5 of the way up the page from the bottom)

d. DE/DEC/DC review and decision-making

look at the boxes below it, that may answer some of your questions about the 6 questions.

Thank you for the good info link.
I called ss today to ask them why i got this in the mail so soon, but the girl i got wasnt nice and really couldnt give me any answers.

Should i go down to my local ss office and have them explain why this could have happened or just fill it out and send it in again.
I dont get why with such a low profile score, am being sent this stuff so often. You would think i wouldnt be one of their top priorities

The funny part in all this is, back in 2001 i was approved on my first try in 4 months of sending application in. I mean you would think, if my case was weak, back then they would have at least denied me once.

The stress of this, is now making me debate if i should just walk away from buying the house and staying where iam.

Thanks again Echoes
Bobby

Dear Bobby,

I don't know much and would defer to Echoes for sure on any SS advice.

If it were ME, I would go through with the plans on moving. I realize how stressful you must feel about another review so quickly, but since you have been on SS for so many years, have NOT improved, you should be victorious after another review. You can't live your life around a notice from SS.

Go about your life as you plan and worry about packing. SS will be what it will be and you will be wasting your time worrying about it. I would submit the form, and until you hear otherwise, you are still covered. Should the day come when they say they are going to rescind your benefits, then you can worry and also appeal that decision.

Worry will not change anything but I do know how stressful you must feel.

Wishing you the best and let us know how things proceed. (Just my take on it.)

Could you have put anything on the mortgage application to show that you have "earned" income above the amount allowed under the rules of SSDI ?

THAT would trigger a review in my mind.

If you state the ability and earnings above the SGA level, they would most definitely consider that you have improved enough to earn substantial gainful income.

Crazy

You sound as if you're obsessing and fretting over this. Calm down. It will be resolved. And you'll wonder why you worked yourself up.
