Call your bank once a week to check your DD account. For all you know, your backpay could be already sitting there.

How come you are not entitled to military disability benefits? Asking because you make no mention of applying and/or receiving same.

Some banks , maybe most, you can sign up online and set up email or text alerts for deposits or debits. Then no need to call asking for a balance..
You would get an instant message alerting of any deposit.

I was wondering about any VA benefits/wounded warrior, etc also.
I don't know how that system works/overlaps with a SSDI case.

If you are in dire finances SSI may be applicable.

Many have the same questions about the "system", some reasons it is slow.... it is bogged down with ageing baby boomers, the slow economy makes it harder for many with some slight disability to find jobs that fit their needs... All claims need to be checked out so the system isn't paying out for unqualified claims.

Sorry to hear that your wait continues. Is it strictly SSDI for which you applied, or are there other benefits to which you applied that may be slowing things down? LIke SSI ?

The message on your online SSA account is just standard jargon until everything is completed.

As Jo*Mar suggested,.... you may want to set up an alert with your financial institution to which direct deposits are to be made, to send you an automatic message that a direct deposit has been received.

THAT may give you information faster than checking your SSA account online. I am not sure, but I think the payments are actually received by the recipient before they are posted to the account online under SSA.

I am sorry that the SSA office person to whom you spoke gave you such a "curt" response of you will get it when you get it. That is just RUDE. That may be the case in fact, but I am sure there is a nicer way to say it.
