Default Ssdi widow benefits

My husband had been on ssdi 5 years I gave been on for 7 years, we were married 39 years this year. He was 57 I am 56 He passed this week, the funeral home notified ssdi of his passing. I was wondering if anyone had any information or experience with widow benefits, do I have to apply or does it happen automatically. He received higher benefits than I did. Any information would be appreciated.
