Default Ca Ssdi Mental Consult 10/25

After 7 years of disability, chronic pain I filed for SSDI
Can anyone shed light on what to expect
Do I take in recordds, information
Or sit there and be the recipient of question barrage?

Default Good Evening

To OLECYN, Yes your in for a long fight. It took me almost 4 years to get approved for SSDI and I'm still fighting with these people for my benefits.

I would suggest you find yourself a SS advocate before you even start.

CHECK OUT: SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY COALITION theres a ton of information there. 2. My Social Security BLOG is another good reference website. Jeff

Default Ssdi

I just went through this a week ago. I found the shrink scarey and really disinterested in what he was doing. Some people have lots of tests done.
He will have you probably count backwards from 100 by sevens. If you can do this rapidly...then don't on the exam. He will test your ability to concentrate and rememeber things like numbers in a sequence. Ask if you are depressed. Ask about meds and how they make you feel. My shrink asked if I had been abused as a child......
Mine was in Michigan and only took about 1/2 hr. Just sit there and answer the questions politely. Make sure when you talk about your problems...you give the worst case scenario.
