I didn't know where else to post this and hoping there is someone here who can direct me.
My youngest grandchild suffered a stroke at age 12. His father was between jobs and moving to another state when all of this happened. He took out Cobra insurance to cover the family during this period of time until the new job's insurance covered them. It was his understanding that he paid for the insurance monthly as long as he needed it. It was also his understanding that if he didn't pay then he didn't have the insurance. Nothing told him that he needed to keep paying or notify them when he didn't want it anymore. It was his understanding that he didn't need to notify them. Now they are coming back to him and telling him he owes for the policy even tho he wasn't paying or using it. They are threatening him with lawsuits. Can anyone help me with legal aid for a step-son who has suffered tremdous crisis and disaster? I don't know where to look for help and he has no money for legal aid. Billye
