I figured this place would be the best place to start because a lot of you are experts on SSD. I am married, and on SSD. We file our taxes jointly but because of what I get on my SSD check we have only had to pay taxes on my husbands check. So with this economic stimulus package that was passed, are we a couple or a single taxpayer and spouse on social security?

If filing jointly then your SSD checks are considered income and added to your husbands income, do your deductions from their.
Or, you can file married but seperate, SSD checks are still considered income but you'll lose most of your deductions if you do. Always itemize IMO. You'll be getting that stimulas check in the spring only if you file a tax return for 2007. You should be $300.00, husband $600.00 and a child will get you another $300.00. This is of course subject to your income. If your combined $ is under $100K (guessing, but it's a relatively high income amount that's allowed) you should get it. And Yes, the stimulas checks are considered income too. Geez...
