Default go for it

it depends on if it is sever enough to prevent you from doing your past work. and if you have a doc to back you up on ssdi. it will be a long haul for ssdi or ssi not to sound depresive but about 80% who apply get turned down at the first step. but win at the alj level. i would apply but get a attorney that will give you a better chance of a win. good luck and dont give up no matter what.

Hi,I assume you are being treated at a VA hospital for PTSD and can verify the PAD etc. It so, it is always worth a try. I could write a book on this. It is best to make the initial application on your own as you just might get approved the first time without someone taking part of your money. I live near Shreveport La but not familar with TX process. Every state is different. Although it is federally funded the state disability office makes the determination. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT APPLY ON LINE. It is too easy for a computer to say no, you can't ask questions or explain. Get everything together and make an appointment. At last I knew ss will not mail or let you download the forms. I still have blank forms kept on my computer from a few years ago. They allow you to prepare and have all infor ready for the interview. If you need them, please contact me. Documentation is important and get your own copies. Do not depend on the hospitals or doctors to answer rapidly to ss and in some cases at all. If you go prepared with all reports, test results etc, you stand a good chance. Also sometimes contacting a state representative helps. They have a contact in the state office and can get your application expedited and maybe some special handling.Timm
