Default need help - how do I get disability?

Maybe someone can help me here. All of my Docs and PT have said I shouild be collecting disability. They said my condition is severe enough and forever. I cannot work and I have no income! I applied for Disability but was told I didn't have enough working credits. I was short 1 credit ($1,000 of income). They told me I needed to go back to work and get the credit I need then file disability???????? Ok, how do I do that? I can't work!

How do people who never worked get disability? I am confused! My mother gets disability and has since she was in her mid 40's and she NEVER worked! She said she doesn't know how she got it.

Can anyone throw some info my way on this. I am still fighting my workmans comp case as well. But I may never be able to work again. probably not.

You need 40 work credits in the last ten years to get SSDI, less if you are younger, but apparantly you are one short.

SSI is another disability program that is income based and asset based. You dont need to have a certain number of work credits to qualify. Call social security and start the application process, they will tell you what you need to qualify.
