Cool Who's my sugar daddy this week? SDI!

I just got a nice check from CA State Disability Insurance [SDI]. The first!! Including back pay from when I first was declared P&S.
Finally I'm not living on $500 a month from LTD!!! But I just had a question for all yall out there. I know someone is gonna want back pay. Is it my Long Disability [LTD] provider or will it be Social Security Disability if/when I receive that?
I am just trying to see the big picture. Anyone with any SDI experience? I really want to absorb any advice you have. I'm pretty clueless

Hi - regarding CSDI - you mean the short term California State Disabilty right? This used to be only payment for maximum for one year... then SSDI and/or LTD is supposed to kick in... LTD may start at 90 or 120 days though - and if you receive benefits that they say must be deducted from any payments they gave you - you must pay them that much... I know when I got SSDI finally approved - I had to pay back to the LTD company that amount or they would cancel me asap (and my monthly SSDI pyaments are deducted from my total LTD monthly payment)..... in regards to SDI - look carefuly at your LTD policy and see if it is also a deduction from the LTD monthly payment... or check with HR of your former company or even the LTD people if necessary... you dont want to get hit with a surprize!

Congrats on getting the check....

Is it very strange that I had LTD start first and thenCSDI? (yes. CA is right).

Ugh!!! My brain is scrambled- I can't even write a coherent question. I'll think about it and come back....

But yes- I'm all ready to send LTD a big check due to my SDI pay. And I am starting the process of SSDI which menas more $$ that was once mine- won't be. That nice check I got? I'm pretending that I never got it!! :P
