Default no insurance

I'm wondering about my future...after my dh no longer works & he gets SS. Also, his spouce does not get any 'benefits'...I mean, I no longer will get any insurance. I have only had a few very short jobs because I can't drive, (but I admit, I am able to work) so will get no SS. What can/should I do? Is there anything?

Question state supported programs

Hi lor,

In GA there is a program for low income people to get medical care at low/no cost. Maybe all States have such a safety net? I will warn you tho, it's a frustrating process: getting qualified, making sure you renew on time, making ALL appointments, and the waiting in line... that's the worst. But my DR appt's were $3 and perscriptions are $2 each! ER $25 and $50 hospital stays!!

Check with the OH Human Services department - there should be a listing in your yellow pages - State Govt. section. Or check with a county Hospital and ask what programs you should register with.

good luck,
Anne
