Hi Claudia!

I have heard of it, but dont know to much except that it will be like being in the court room with the judge, only the judge will be live on TV! LOL

We will be prayin that Frank prevails

I finally won back in Sept of 07, and got the backpay in June. Got the medicare right away, and they gave me two cards. One was for all the medical bills I had incurred during the loooong wait, and one for the here and now.

I am not sure how it is on video, but eye contact with the judge was important. It helped the judge to believe what your saying. Dont go into long answers because your attorney can always ask for more information, if you put out to much info you cant bring it back if you know what I mean.

I will be crossing my fingers!

Laugh had my hearing by video conference yesterday...

Hello. I am new to the forum besides peeking around a bit. I had my video conference hearing yesterday.

I was in Wisconsin and the my Judge was in LA. It worked out great. There was a big screen Television in the room where I could view the Judge from. He could see all of us in the courtroom as well, from his Television. It was great except for the little bit of delayed response time. It lasted about 15 minutes and then I was done. The Judge was exceptionally nice and very courteous.

I had a hearing this way in August of 2007, Crazy Sunshine described it pretty much as it is. I received a bench decision that day.

This is a way that you can get a hearing quicker thru SS. I received a letter explaining it and could wait on a judge in my area if I wanted - although I was told by my attorney that it could take up to a year if I chose to wait.

Social Security is just sending the area of the country that have back logs waiting on hearings to other parts of the country that aren't as backed up.

The hearing is no different than what it would be if you were face to face, it is the same hearing process just on television per se.
