My first claim was denied in Oct. '06.
When I filed again last spring, this time with medical records previously thought to be destroyed by my local clinic, the SS worker moved my phone interview up by one day and even suggested that I request reopening of the original for good cause, to which I, of course, agreed because I've been unable to work since '02. Last week I was told that the DDS examiners had decided to reopen my original claim (without me having to ask - is this typical?) and, that it shouldn't take much longer - the SS worker even apologized for not being able to give me an exact date. I'd send her flowers if not for the security problems it would surely cause. It seems the closer it should be, the crazier I get. How often do they reopen a prior claim and then deny approval? I'm sure it happens and, if it does, I won't give up but, I'm trying to be optimistic without getting my hopes up unnecessarily! Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance. |
