I had C-3-7 fussed after a failed C-6-7. Results are good. Pain was hard the first few weeks. I took PT and it was wonderful. almost 8 months post op, and pain levels are tolerable for sure. I wish you all the best. ginnie

[I was sick from the pain. No there was no permanent damage from the visit to the bowl. It did hurt though. I still have issues with swallowing almost 8 months later. Neuro still maintains this is normal. I also have nodes in thyroid that are not dangerous. I need water to drink while I have a meal. I will get my throat check out with a ENTS. Surgial site was long in my neck. Af course all the nodes were moved out of the way also. So I am not real sure yet why there are still swallowing issues. ginnie Post almost 8 months C-3-7

The swallowing problems could be from the thyroid. I had 3 masses, 2 in front and one in back. Always felt lump in throat. When I started seeing adams apple, that really scared me. I wish you luck. Saucer |

I kinda wondered about that. did you have your thyroid removed? I have 8 nodes. All biopsy was fine. I just feel a lump and I had this lump in my throat before the surgery. I had a swallow test at the hospital which didn't show anything but liquid going down. It did not show inparment or nodes. I will seek help for sure with ENT. Thanks for responding ginnie

I had the middle and left half of thyroid removed 3 years ago. Like I said I felt the lump swallowing, went to the doctor, she said it felt ok. About a year later I had an adams apple and had a cat scan. Thats where they found 2 lumps on the left side. They did the biopsy and they were benign but they wanted to take them out. The surgeon found the 3rd in the back which was probably the one bothering me the most. She said as soon as she saw my thyroid she knew I had hypothryroidism. Im on meds for rest of life. Please go to ENT or even a Encrinologist. I thank God it was not cancer since my doctor was so flippant about the lump to begin with. Good luck, let me know. Hugs, Saucer |

Yes, thanks for writing. I will go to the EMT I got a referal from my PCP. I have 8 nodes, both sides, one near the middle. CT scan picked them up after my fussion. No worry for cancer, nodes benign, however this swallowing issue is a bid deal. This is the second full year feeling this. I guess I am just tired of all the medical issues I have like so many others. it is never ending. Have a good day I appreciate the input ginnie

I can sure relate. Im 51 years old and feel like 100. Im fused from C2 through T3 now and wonder whats next. I cant believe you are going on 2 years with this. I got to the point where I couldnt swallow my meds. I'm sure they will take it out. I was lucky, I had a woman surgeon, she cut me right about the circular bone in the front of you neck because I have no wrinkles in my neck. That was nice until I turn around a look like frankenstein in the back. Nice talking to you. Saucer |
