Default Spinal Cord Aneurysm

My husband was diagnosed with a arteriovenous fistula with an aneurysm in the spinal cord this past June. It has been a long and stressful summer with little resolution thus far. He had an angiogram done in June to identify the mass and then another angiogram in August to try and embolize the aneurysm but that procedure was unsuccessful. While we were waiting his surgery date he developed a radiation burn on his back which now will set us back several months before we can proceed with the surgery. Is there anyone else out there who has faced a similar diagnosis? We are seeking treatment at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas but I have been at a loss as to how to get information on this condition and find the best place for treatment. I am very concerned about having to wait so long before eliminating this mass within his spinal cord but there does not seem to be anything we can do about it.
