Tongue uncertain

Hello, I am new, and not very good on the pc I am looking for dicussion on cervical disk disease. I would like to know if anyone has my trouble. I am 6 years post fusion c-6-7 and have narrowing of my spinal cord. and severe degereration c-4-7. I have had incidence of fecal incontanince. Everything I am reading says that this can happen. my gastro dr. says this is seperate and wants to do very invasive embarassing tests. Should I not go back to a neurologist first to find out? Who has had experience with this? I do have severe cervical issues

Hi Virginia ~ I think your gastro is nuts. I think you should rely on your Neuro and see him FIRST. Have you seen your Neuro since this incontinence started? If not, you need to call them and tell them that it's happening and you need to get in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This isn't something you want to put off. Call him NOW and get an appointment, ok??? Do NOT mess with the gastro. He doesn't know what he's talking about right now. Call the neuro.

Best of luck, and let us know what happens after you see the Neuro. God bless. hugs, Lee

Smile Re:neuro

I went to see my pcp today to get his input. He did not waste a day witch scares me worse. I see a new neuro this coming tuesday. just like that in one week I am fasing real tough choices. I want to give up and not do it cause things are really bad. I will hear him out. First neuro guy didn't tell me the truth I had to get my records. After past fusion he left C-5-6 herniated and didn't do anything just what he had to because I didn't have any insurance. I have DDD DJD I want someone to help me figure out all of it before I go in. I have had pain control since. I kept my little secret because I was indeed afraid that it could be my neck. I had that feeling that things were worse and I was right. Its funny how your body will tell you whenthings are very wrong

Default jo mar hello

[Hi and thank you for starting a thread. If I told you I didn't know what a thread was would you think me silly? No really I am still lost on this site, not knowing what goes where, or where my thread pops up, I've just been feeling my way around.I 've not done this before. I chatted once and liked that. You have rooms and I would like to chat. It would be good if I could tell someone what is going on with my CT scan and let me know ahead of time just what surgery may be presented to me. I need that to be strong. Can someone chat with me? I think I saw that on the bar on the opening page. Let me know.

Default Re: gastro thought

This Gastro Dr. Called me after I dropped him off a copy of my CT Scan. I submitted to a coolonoscopy, all was perfect. He calls and tells me that my neck has nothing to do with the other end, that I should go ahead and do two very invasive, embarassing proceedures, then bio-feedback. this he tells me after seeing this horror of my CT results in front of him. Did he not see I face major surgery? I just can't figure this out unless there is really something very badlywrong with my sphinster mussle. He was some what insistant I do this, evidently at the same time I go through fussion. Is this normal or is this wacky like I think it is. That makes me again feel very uncertain of things.

If you haven't had a colonoscopy before, I think it's recommended at at 40 - 45 to do that.

and at your age, facing a surgery, they do colonoscopies before an impending surgery to rule out cancer of the colon, which is quite common. the thought being, if you have colon cancer, they don't want to subject you to surgery...

You can take comfort in knowing you don't have cancer of the colon.

Hope that helped.

Most of the time it is the low back that causes problems with incontanince, I have problems with that and it is due to my low back the more I hurt the more problems I have
