Tongue Post-op GERD

Hi All,
I am one week post-op from an ACDF C5-6,C6-7. No hard collar, my Doc said one isnt needed with the plate. I feel better than I did pre-op so things seem to be going well except that when I lay on my right side and then sit up, my stomach contents appear to empty into my esophagus. I have had mild reflux for years, this is something totally different. Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience.

My husband had GERD, and it can be dangerous if left untreated. Please see your doctor about this --- don't let it go on too long. You may need medication to keep it under control, if you aren't taking something already. If you are taking meds, perhaps they need changing.

I can't see where your surgery would cause it, but I'm no doctor either -- stranger things have happened.

Please talk to your doc. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee
