Hi,
I had a posterior 5 level cervical laminectomy with fusion and instrumentation in Dec '13. For the past couple of months, I have been having cramps in my hands, legs and feet. Mostly in my hands though. Whenever I try to do something such as open a bottle of soda, or open a letter, my hand will cramp severely. Same goes with my legs. Anyone here have this experience? My surgeon wants to do a CT to check for hardware failure, but its so darn expensive and I've been out of work since September of last year so funds are limited. I have had my calcium and potassium checked cause that was the first thing that I thought of and both were normal. Anyone here experience this type of thing? Also, I have palsy of the ring and small finger of my right hand from surgery. |

The Magic of Magnesium: A Mighty Mineral Essential to Health
Muscle cramps/pain are a primary indicator, and the fix is relatively easy—try a good supplement (not magnesium oxide—get taurate, citrate, or chelated) or epsom salts, or magnesium lotion (you can get Morton Epsom Lotion at most pharmacies, discount stores, Amazon, etc. for a few bucks). Results should be fairly quick—within hours. There's a ton of info in the archives. Doc

I can definitely attest to the magic of Magnesium, as a supplement and in epsom salt baths, I buy mine at Walmart and throw it in to the bath and soak for say 20 mins.
Used to get terrible stiff fingers and legs and now it hardly ever happens, when it does I take that bath. Feel better very soon.... |
