Default shoulld i, or should'nt i...?

good day all

i yet 2 hear from my surgeon
or @ least someone from the office
last, i was being sent my script
still extremely confused at his behavior
as per last x-ray i am not completed with the fusing process
so like me or not, putting his ego and disappointment aside
are i not still a patient of his art work
i need 2 speak 2 my employer of my status
how much time would any of u give before i picking up the phone and addressing this mess

thanks much,

p.s. still mortified that he did not think changes in pupil did not raise a red flag. so glad my pain doctor was able to witness it.
my sugar levels are within normal range
and it is time to sit with my pc dr. and figure out what needs addressing first
working on

Eva, Maybe I've said this before - I would bring all this up with your PCP. It is (ostensibly) his/her job to act as coordinator/facilitator of all of your other doctors. Let her/him do that. Make a list or write a letter - whichever best helps you keep organized and on-topic, and have copies for whichever doctors need to receive them.

I don't know what else to suggest; I hope someone else may have something constructive/positive/helpful to contribute. I agree; I think this surgeon is behaving abominably (or chickening out) but it's not the first time I've heard of this kind of thing about some (certainly not all) surgeons. Like anyone else, their "people skills" are going to differ. I hope that he is a much better surgeon than he is a communicator, but only time will tell that.

N.B. Perhaps a bit (or at least non sequitur) but Angie's List (which charges a fee, but has been offering a discount for rating them) now includes doctors.

Doc

hi Eva,

I agree with Dr. Smith. It is your family physician's main responsibility to be the facilitator in all these specialists. I only had one script for pain meds from my neurosurgeon and that was upon discharge from the hospital immediately after surgery. All my other scripts for pain meds or otherwise have come through my family doctor. I think you should write a list of your concerns and bring them to an appt. with him. Do it in person if possible, they don't like doing things such as narc scripts over the phone. I get a much better reception when they see my face and talk to me. Then they can understand how you are feeling better by reading your expressions and body language.

Good luck, I understand your concern with work, I'm going through the same with mine. They aren't thrilled with me being off this long either.

have a pain free day!

hello doc,
i am happy u responded as as u have
feel ur on the same page
it all began with my pcp
i believe i may have mentioned i also suffer with ocd
i am orderly, if it were not for my file, on my case, i believe
my doctors would be lost, as i still believe they are
i do my homework on all procedures that are done 2 me
always asking for a copy for my files
thank you so much for any suggestions u have 2 offer
i am exactly where u suggest i be
@ the moment my pcp has me testing myself
2 see how my sugar levels are
so far always within normal range
he was most interested in THE READINGS AFTER what i call "episodes"
till a 5th episode should come on
still no clue
as far as sitting down with him
i agree, i have so many copies 2 make
and although i can give them 2 his office and they could do it
I DO NOT TRUST ANYONE
i did call my surgeons office this morning made an appointment 11/18/11
the fusing is not completed
he still hasn't responded 2 any of my request
i also agree with your spin on "people skills" his stink, it does NOT bother me
just be honest
i look for truth, everything else will follow
my gut tells me something is very wrong
i like "chickening out" interesting
i get the feeling his ego just gets shot down hearing my status
what i will not tolerate is him ignoring me when i request him 2 call
feels as if i am not getting anywhere

Pain pain go away,
please never return
on any given day

u keep the suggestions coming
