Default ACDF at C6-7 with allograft bone cage and plating

I had the deluxe package on 9/20/11 as an outpatient. No issues, no need for pain meds. I was very sore and felt like I had been put through some type of extensive exercise program my back and shoulders hurt but not the surgical site. My throat just felt like someone had a choke hold on me.

I was doing great until 9/27 when I went for my post op and my dr. told me I could now lift up to the weight of a 1/2 gallon of milk, could drive and take a real shower. That night, the arm pain came back! I had my first week since March of no burning or stabbing in my left arm or headache. Although the headache is still gone, the arm pain still remains.

I called the nurse the next day and she said to stop and start back at square one. Well the pain is still with me back at square one and that's been now 3 days. Hoping it will stop again.

I keep reading about a collar some are having to wear, I don't have a collar and no limitations on moving my neck. I am off work for the next 6 weeks but my dr said if I felt like I wanted to go back sooner, I could.

Riding in a car/vehicle is not fun, I haven't driven as turning my head quickly isn't comfortable and I fear I may be in a bind.

Has anyone else had arm pain come and go after surgery? I was so hoping it was gone for good.

Default so many conflicting aproaches

good day,

2 hear how differently doctors operate blows me away
in my case 5/6-6/7 allograft plating 6 screws
home after 1 day with meds
only 2 fail at fusing a year later
2nd surgery 4-15-11 posterior additional donor bone and cage
now remember this is my experience
the first thing i remembering is the feeling of my arms, hands and my fingers and saying i can feel everything the pain gone but am sad 2 report it was very short lived
when this all began it was right hand arm fingers
after 2nnd surgery both are good for nothing
only now my left is so much worse than right
i am in stagnant mode and was told i haven't fused completely
coming along with the help of the cage
i do not trust any doctors at this point
very cautious with everything that is happening with me
my children at my side
have not been able 2 return back 2 work after 2nd surgery, 1st surgery i was back 2 work after two weeks
i'll have 2 wait for my 1st gentle hugs
cutie, 9LBS 4OZS may of 2011
hang on
not so easy
but the support IS HERE when u need it
hope you are going 2 get better than myself
always have your advocate
best of happiness for you
