Hello sidharthmellam, Welcome.
We are not doctors here. We are just patients trying to help each other. From what you have said, and the medications listed, it appears that your mother may be being treated for arthritis and/or some type of neurological (nerve) pain. There could be many causes. Some conditions of this type cannot be "cured" but only treated. I would encourage you (or some family member) to accompany your mother when she sees her doctors so that you can help by asking questions and taking notes. I have tried to interpret these medications into what they are called in the West; NUCOXIA-P is not currently approved in USA. NUCOXIA-P ---After Food Morning 1 - Night 1 = Acetaminophen 500 mg; Etoricoxib 60 mg (a COX-2 selective inhibitor;NSAID) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etoricoxib GABANTIN-Forte ---ONLY 1 in Morning = 300 mg gabapentin; 500 mcg methylcobalamin Tryptomer 10mg ----- only night For 5 Days = Amitriptyline Perhaps one or more of the moderators can suggest a better place to answer this question. Doc

Thank You Dr. Smith , For your Reply and Concern.
From the Given Link by you , The following on the Nucoxia Some clinical trials and meta-analysis showed that treatment with some coxibs (in particular rofecoxib) led to increased incidence of adverse cardiovascular events compared to placebo. Because of these results, some drugs were withdrawn from the market (rofecoxib, in September 2004 and valdecoxib in April 2005). Hi All Please Suggest , Which is the nearest Substitute for Nucoxia-P which has no adverse effect or Least effect also , Suggest anything which can be helpful to me and Mother on this Regards |

Welcome to NeuroTalk:
All NSAIDs have cardiotoxic potential. Some more than others. Here is a short list. http://www.bcbstx.com/provider/pharm...ids_study.html I believe that naproxen remains at this time the "safest" cardiovascularly. But safe is a relative term. The bleeding potential is also an issue, and I haven't seen lists for that. All NSAIDs have bleeding potential.

I found that some foods I ate when I was younger became triggers for inflammation as I got older. Hot peppers, some spices, MSG are a few that effect me that way. You can find some information by googling: inflammation diet Doc

I want to welcome you to Neruo Talk. You are doing very good by your mother to find out all you can about her nerve pain. Gabapentin or neurontin, is for nerve pain. Maybe you could go with her and ask if this medication can be increased. 300mg is a low dose. Other medications can also help. Keep a pain journal. Doctors appreciate this kind of attention to detail. Times, duration, intensity, and what so far has worked for her. Keep doing the research as you have been. Has your mother had an MRI for her back to rule out anthing in the spine causing this pain? I am sorry your mom and your family is going through this. No matter where we live on the planet, it is not easy to deal with pain. Welcome again, and post all the questions you want to the forum. ginnie
