Default Shoe, sock and washing foot

I read a thread re some-one's hypersensitive foot in a sock & there were mixed opinions about wearing a sock in a shoe or not.

I found comfy socks in the camping section in Poundland & swear by them. I have difficulty with shoes & sandals and can no longer wear flip-flops. I can wear slippers as long as the sticky label inside is removed as that is sheer agony! !!!

How do you wash your hypersensitive foot too?

Thanks,
Tenderfoot (!)

I wouldn't recomend wearing shoes w/o a sock as it promotes unneeded perspiration and possible fungal infection. Not needed. Go with a washable, lined slipper or moccasin. When you find the right one, buy several and wash frequently. This, too, reduces the chance of a fungal infection. Gotta keep those feet clean. I soak mine in sea salt nightly and then rub them lightly with a plush wash cloth. The salt water helps eliminate the dead skin. Dry slowly with a clean plush towel and then finish off with a blow dryer, just to make certain they are truely dry. My doctor recomends putting a healthy amount of Vicks Vapor rub on the feet before putting on a clean pair of socks. This moisturizes and she swears it kills fungus in the early stage. I have worn dress sandals twice in the last ten years...........my Dad's funeral and my daughter's wedding. Sometimes you just have to time meds just right and then bite the bullet. Best wishes.
