ginnie - you called and asked for an appt. with the signing MRI Dr. that did the report? and he wouldnt meet with you? OMG.. I think that is cause to be reported to the medical board... argh... everyone i have told to go see the signing MRI Dr. they have been able to make an appt. directly after the MRI results came back.

ChelKB - are you going to make an appt to see the signing MRI Dr.? he will go over his findings with you and give you a better direction.

Yes I did call to make appt. with the MRI reading doctor. He stated to talk to my neurologist. I wound up believing my first neurologist in what he said were my findings. However, I got ahold of my records a few years later when symtoms were still awful. That is when I found out that my origional MRI had much more on it than what was adressed surgically the first time around. Because I didn't follow up and believed him I wound up with that second really difficult fusion. That taught me to get all my records, and follow up with any findings. That first neuro told me there wasn't anything more wrong, and that it was all in my head. Well how come I wound up fused C3-7 then? I had reversed the curve of my spine. You would think that something like that would be told to a patient. Boy did I learn the hard way. Thats why I tell folks to get their records and ask all the questions they can.
I hope you are OK check, and that your own sitatuation resolves. None of it is fun...
I never went back to that first neuro when he told me it was in my head, just a pain specialist thinking that was all they could do. It was the pain doc. who got me another referral after Ketamine infusions didn't work. He got my records and saw on the screen what was going on. Thank the maker, that there are still good physians around....take care Ginnie

Joojee22 - I never did talk to the signing MRI doctor. After having the neurologist that did my EMG test look at my MRI, she told me I shouldn't be in physical therapy but really needed surgery. Heck, even the physical therapist thought I would need surgery though that is something they almost never recommend. She suggested to me to get another opinion. After consulting with my PCP (who agreed with the neurologist), I went for a second opinion. I fully researched the second neurosurgeon and was completely ready for that initial appointment. It was decided that I needed an ACDF on c4-c7. I had that surgery on March 19th. It's 7 + weeks now and for the most part, doing well

So true to get more than a couple opinions! I have seen 5 Dr's (neuro's and spine Dr's) to this point, some are fired and some i listened to. One will do surgery if i decide to go that route... argh..
