i have been at physios one tells me my results are bad and will cause this
outher said no as its not bad
heres the mri

there is mild desiccation troughout the discs of the cervical spine
mild annular bulging is seen at c3 c4 without neural compromise
at c4 c5 ,there is mild annular bulging and right sided end plate osteophyte formation mildly encroaching on the right neural foramen and exiting root
AT C5 C6 ,there is a small left posterolateral disc protrusion is associtaion with end plate osteophyte formation. there is significant encroachment on the exiting left c6 root in the neural foramen
futher mild annular bluging is seen at c6c7 with a small broad based central disc protrusion but no nerve root compromise
anyone tell me is this bad

I bolded some of the more important terms ,you can do searches for more info on those.
Is pain on left and right equally or most one sided?

What is your age?

For the weightlifting, I guess it depends of how much you are lifting & how often? I would focus on posture, fitness, flexibility and form. Not muscle mass.

I don't really know how "bad" this might be - but it is the only one with significant in the description.. could help to explain the more left sided symptoms.

[there is significant encroachment on the exiting left c6 root in the neural foramen]

Did you have a follow up after the MRI with a MD?

How is your overall upper body posture?
Hunched or rolled forward head/shoulders can close down on the area where many nerves & vascular supply flows - can cause arm/hand issues also.
Also over built muscles in the neck/shoulders may have a similar effect.

What kind of work do you do - lots of desk work or a repetitious job?

You could take your film/report to a skilled chiropractor for an evaluation.

But I would follow up with the MD that rx'd the MRI also.

Hey i am built up in neck etc large muscles
It all started after i went to a physio with a rib and she said my neck was tight and needed to be worked on , then 2 days after hand pain started
I was at a physio last night she checked me with lots of tests said i was in good shape posture etc was good.
Yet my 1 st physio said the mri results meant i had to stop all weights and let her treat me for a year.
Im sending me mri disc to a doc i have been with
So he can tell me what he thinks.
Before i had mri i was with 2 diffrent docs both said hands cant be caused by neck as i would have pain right down arm into hand not just in hand

Default hello mcriot

At C3-4 it is a mild condition. That is a key word "mild". However you have a narrowing of the right nerual formen at C5-6. This is a compression, that narrows the nerve signal The one that is a bit of a concern is C6, where it says significant enroachment on C6 root. The nerve is being touched.
\My advise is to stop all physical excersises until you are cleared by a neurologist. You don't want to make these issues worse ok? Seek another opinion no matter what you decided to do. This is critical to see if two or more doctors agree on the treatment, or if it needs treatment, PT or what ever. Think carefully about any steroid injections. I am not a big fan of them. They only made me worse, and hurt to boot. Not all conditions warrent surgery. This is really a last resort when all conservative measure have been taken. I sure wish you all the best. If you can, keep a journal of any symptoms you are expereincing. This will help your doctor decide a course of action. Be good to yourself, and lay low until you find resolution. ginnie

[It all started after i went to a physio with a rib]

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean in that part?
Do you have an extra cervical rib?
Was it the top rib that was a problem?
Did they do a rib mobilization ( more or less pressing the top rib back into place?)

Last year i had a rib give me pain so i went to a physio she treated the rib , but said my neck was very stiff and she would work on it then after a day or so my hands started
I think her at my neck was the trigger for the nerve pain in hands
I then went to see a doc with my hand pain , he said no way could my neck cause hand pain if it was from neck it would give pain from neck all the way down arms into hands , but i had read it can
