Default Post Spinal Fusion...... No Neck Brace...

I am scheduled for a one level spinal fusion of C4-C5 in four weeks. My Doctor told me that for a one level fusion he doesn't use neck braces.

I just want to know if there are others out there who had the fusion and never wore a neck brace. How did it feel? How well/fast did you start the feel better?

For those out there that wore the neck brace, do you think in aided in your recovery?

I also want to hear from anyone who might have Pros and Cons to the neck brace.

If it's not necessary for me to ware one then I'll just keep on trudging on, but if it's something I should be using (even if only for the first few weeks) then I'll bring it up with my surgeon when I see him in two week.

Thanks.
