Default L3-4 fusion stories?

Hi:

I am at the point where I have to make a decision whether or not to have the fusion done.

Any success stories etc. about having it done versus not?

Help!

There are most definitely success stories—wish I had some statistics for you (not handy at the moment). There are some in the archives—do an Advanced Search, Keyword(s): "success", Search Titles Only, Show Results as Threads). Different criteria may yield more results.

On support forums like these, the um... "less-than-successful" stories are likely to predominate because the successes (generally) don't need support—they're out living their lives and... (I think that's the first time I've ever used that smilie—or that it was so apropos!

There's also the phenomenon that people tend to gripe when unhappy about something but remain silent when content/satisfied.

I'm just terrified is all. I think I know what my answer should be.
