Any comments/experience with something like this please?

Well, the update is that the mass is an intradural extramedullary tumour which is the size of a grape and is compressing the spine. Which is a bit of a turnaround from what I heard a couple of days ago. The neurosurgeon says it is unlikely to be cancer but can't be 100% sure until it comes out.
I am scheduled for surgery on Wednesday and may or may not get relief from the numbness after the operation and there is 5% chance of paralysis.
Has anyone had any experience with this type of tumour, good or bad please?
