Default 12 weeks post PLIF

So I had my L5-S1 fusion on Sept 10th. I suppose it's deemed a success since I'm walking and my symptoms aren't worse. After the surgical numbness in the extremities wore off my sensory symptoms in my left foot/leg remained, maybe with a lessening of the burning type pain and severe squeezing type pain. I started PT a few weeks ago and it has highlighted the weakness I have in that left foot as I have trouble doing the stationery heel lifts.

Surgery isn't the magic bullet. I knew this, but a little part of me must have held out some hope. I suppose it is back to the waiting game to see if the sensorimotor neuropathy gets better or worse with time. (ie, was it my lumbar issues or am I dealing with idiopathic sensorimotor neuropathy.)

I'd love to hear from some others. I could use the encouragement, honestly!
