Confused Can Someone help m unerstan my MRI results

I had an MRI an it stated, there is minimal posterior L3-L4 disc bulging. Mild broad posterior L4-L5 disc bulging is present. There is mild broad posterior L5-S1 disc bulging of increased T2 signal at the posterior annular margin. Degenerative changes of L4-L5 L5-S1 apophyseal joints are present. Small synovial cyst projects posteriorly from the right L4-L5 apophyseal joint. I'm in a lot of pain and it's interrupting my life. I don't understand this terminology. Can someone please help???

Hello,
I moved your post here to our Spinal forum for quicker replies.
I bolded the basic terms for you, sometimes fewer words are easier to grasp..

[Apophyseal joints are hinge-like joints that allow the flexion, extension and torsion of the spine. These joints also interlock the vertebra to make the spine more stable.] http://www.spine-health.com/glossary/apophyseal-joint

synovial cyst
[The fluid-filled sac creates pressure inside the spinal canal and this in turn can give a patient all the symptoms of stenosis of the spine. ]
http://www.spine-health.com/conditio...t-lumbar-spine

Where & what are your symptoms and pain?
That should help members better relate to the MRI information and what might be the main cause of pain for you..

Have you had any PT at all, even if mainly for pain relief modalities?
Ultrasound, massage, TENS/IF stim etc?

Default Thanks for the links

I have extremely horrible lower back pain that shoots down my left leg. I can't sit or stand for more than 30 mins without my back hurting, my butt going numb or shooting pains going all the way down to my foot. At one point it caused me to fall. It gets to the point where I don't ant to get out of bed or move sometimes for that matter. I've had nerve blocks , PT, Tens Unit and have also been to the chiropractor. The epidural blocks did not help. I had no relief from them. PT I do most of the same thing at home with my ROM exercises. My tens unit I go through so many batteries it doesn't make sense!!! One doctor said I'll feel this way for the rest of my life and another wants to do surgery. I want to figure out what all this means before I make a decision. Once again THANK YOU ALL FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!!!
