Default spinal surgery next week

I saw the neuro surgeon and will be having this done next week.C5 anterior corpectomy and C4-C6 fusion with trabeculated metal strutgraft local bone and anterior plate.
He thinks most of my problems are coming from the mess my neck is in. My big problem right now is not smoking, sigh, I didn't realize the e -cigarettes have nicotine in them, I feel so stupid. Smoking is the worst thing for this surgery before and after I thought maybe the e cigs to wean me off but now thats a no too. As bad a shape as I am in right now you would think I wouldn't want a cig but I do.
A little scared about the surgery I had been hoping for better news and that it was a simpler surgery but it's the tough one. Hardly a lick of spinal fluid in parts of my neck. Hope to be back with good news that all went well.

I was wondering if anyone here that has had cervical disk surgery could tell me about it and how the recovery was. This all started for me about 4 months ago so it has been going on pretty long. My doctor told me I had PN then blew me off. I was persistent and then found out with a MRI about my neck. The neuro surgeon thinks that the majority of my symptoms are from my neck that I may have some PN and that not all of my problems will go away.
I'm a little scared so even a good luck would be kind.
Thanks
