Default Discogram

I had a discogram yesterday on my lumbar spine. They said you will feel some pain and go home and rest for the remainder of the day. I did.. I got up this morning in horrible pain thinking it will subdue.. Not the case. This is the worst pain I've felt in my life. Is it normal to feel this bad afterward and how long does it last? Has anyone had one of these and avoided surgery? I overheard a bit what the dr was saying as he was having the nurse input results. Anyone know about the grading system (1-5) of disc injury?
Thanks!
Melissa

Default Hello mschafer

It is my understanding that some pain is normal However, yours sounds like it is above what is reasonable. It is a lousy test anyway to have to go though. Call your doctor and make sure there isn't something else going on. You will feel better. Make them respond to you in a very direct way. You need a few answers and assurances, maybe another office call. I hope it feels better soon. ginnie
