Default Piriformis syndrome...

Hello everyone.Ive been having lower back pain, more on my buttocks area.the pain was shooting down to my leg.And the worst part is my right leg goes numb n i cant feel my toes.I even fell down n injured my self once.So i went to an orthopaedic surgeon. He did an mri of my lumbar and sciatic notch. It showed compression on my piriformis muscle. Now i have tried on physiotherapy excersice, traditional massage, lots of medicine , and steriod injection. My dr has advice me to go for a surgery.Has anyone here underwent a piriformis release?Im abit curious to know abt the outcome.Pls help me..do ull think i need a surgery..or is there any other alternative treatment..Tq...

regards,Tinesh.s
