Default neck MRI, is it MRI without contrast good enough for neck pain

Is MRI without a contrast good enough for a neck pain ? I'm freaking out because of the contrast, I think I'm going to have only the without part

Hiya,

I had a head MRI without contrast and the overrun was detailed enough to show my compressed spinal cord. That was more than detailed enough for my neck and referred arm problems.

Dave.

I had a head mri with and w/out a contrast 2 months ago, but they saw just a little part of my neck then. I had the neck mri today w/out the contrast, so what they saw that's it. I will take the cd of the mri to my dr. who ordered it, because she always wants to see it for herself, and not just read the report.
I have neck pain and left arm pain. What kind a pain do you have ? a constant ( like my neck ), coming/going ( like my arm pain ), or ?
Thank you for your answer

I had a serious motorbike accident where I went headfirst into the roadside verge, crushing vertebrae in my neck. Then I have had 3 more MVA whiplash injuries, 2 with vehicles slamming my car from behind, one from spinning off backwards into a tree on ice. Then, obviously, the arthritis set in.

I have constant pain and stiffness in my neck, only 30% rotation right and 50% left, even moving that far is terribly painful. My left arm is weak and numb, I have pins and needles numbness permanently in my middle, ring and pinky fingers. My right arm is the painful one, most of the time there is just a painful ache in the middle of my upper arm, outside - but when I try to use it, or move my neck wrong the pain is an excruciating stabbing, boring feeling, as though the bone has a knife jammed through it.

Hope that explains well enough, suffering Cluster Headaches today.

Dave.

oh my friend
you know it
"it" will take you down
if i'm not careful
all my movements must be thought
out
many time manipulation
even to swallow
this just mechanical
i forget where it was i read
and then there is the nerve pain
a softball player for many years
and referred to it i believe
a different animal
i know you get it
mine was always right side
my left side has chimed in about four months
that knife ready to jab if i'm not careful

take care
be careful
me
