Hi
I'm totally going out of my mind with worry here... So for a few years I've had issues with my lower back- it siezes up from time to time. About two years ago I started with a stiff/painful neck...was sent for physio and put on naproxen. Had an x-Ray done and was told I had wear and tear of the spine (cervical spondylosis). Now, two weeks ago I started with tingling in my right lower leg, right arm and on the right side of my face. A stroke was ruled out after I went to the hospital. Some days it is more intense than others and sometimes it's in my left hand also. I've been scheduled to have a brain MRI and referred to a neurologist. I'm just going out of my mind with worry and imagining the worst, has anyone else had symptoms similar to these?. Thanks |

Hi Jayn3s
Yes, I have pins and needles and numbness in my left arm down to my middle, ring and pinky finger. I have excruciating referred pain in my right arm. This comes from Compressed Spinal Cord in my neck. I also have numbness and referred pain in my left leg and groin from lower spinal damage. This causes frequent collapses.and flat out falls. The numbness in your face is a different matter. I have that, too - Neuropathic Facial Pain with Paresthesia, left side - but it is unlikely to come from your neck. More likely it is a seperate Cranial Nerve issue, no less problematic and in need of investigation by a Neuro. I would expect your course of action to be to see a Neuro for a CT or MRI of head and spine. (Sorry, just re-read that this is happening. I am due my pain meds) Hope I have been of some help. I am sorry you have had to come and join our Community. Dave.

With the brain MRI they MAY find an arterial knot or a vein pressing on a Cranial Nerve. Often this does not show up, with me it did. It would explain your facial issues.
As long as symptoms are not too severe it is likely meds are the choice for control. Dave.
