Waiting keenly for my appointment with the spinal surgeon net week.
Taking Targin and Lyrica to deal with pain. In my hip, leg and shin.
Now my left leg collapses when I put my full weight on it and try to push down with my foot. I have had a few falls this week where I have tried to jump up onto my push bike and also when going up stairs. I tried to pull my scooter up on to its stand and put my full weight onto my left leg. My leg gave way and the scooter fell onto me. I had to go to the hospital because two of my toes bent back as I fell. They were black and blue but not broken. Can't wait to get to that appointment with the surgeon.

Hi Phil,

I hope you're feeling a lot better since your accident.

Are you sure you're supposed to be cycling with your back the way it is?

Sounds to me as if you shouldn't be doing too much of anything if your leg keeps going out from under you. You must have pinched nerves in there.

I hope you don't have to drive far to see the surgeon.

You take care of yourself.

Hi Lara, you are exactly right. I have tried to fool myself that I can operate as normal by depending on pain killers to get through the day. Yes with two of the discs herniated the nerves are truly squashed. The problem is the actions I do automatically without thinking where I put all my weight on the left leg. The drive to see the surgeon isn't too far. Just hoping he can push me in sooner to operate.
Life's good, there are people far far worse off than me.
