Default Spinal Fusion of L1 & L2

Scared straight !!!!!
I will be having surgery fusion of L1& L2 on December 8th. I cannot tell my family how terrified I am of this surgery. I have had alot of other surgeries ..abdominal. Never any serious problems aand most went as planned with a quick recovery. However, this is a long recovery process.... Just looking for some moral support here and a shoulder to whine on if thats ok...

Cool Smirk

Hi Susay,

It is difficult when we cannot show our true emotions to our families. But that is why we have this wonderful Community of ours, to act as friends and surrogate families in times of need.

So, relieve your stress and worries, whine away! We are here to read and support you.

Dave.

As Dave mentioned, you will get plenty of support and understanding here. Everyone is so helpful and caring so don't be afraid to ask.

Default Susay

Don't be too nervous. I had acdf 2 level fusion and for me it wasn't too bad. My Dr released me back to work after 3 weeks. That was a mistake! I should have taken off 6 weeks in order to heal enough & I wouldn't have had as much pain.
Point is, it's not a bad surgery if you have no complications.

Plus I was only in the hospital for 23 hours!

Sorry your not able to communicate with your family but I'd try if I were you coz you will need a bit of help afterwards.

Good luck & God Bless you.

Default so sorry

I read your post wrong and am so sorry about that.
Your having back surgery and I posted about neck surgery.

I had back surgery too. Mine was very complex and the best I can say is to think positive thru the whole process. Most important, follow your Drs instructions to the " T". Even if your feeling better at the time or else you could suffer later!

My surgery has left me disabled but it was far more than what your having done.

Hang in there. God Bless you.
