Had ACDF C5-C7 several yrs ago.
3 weeks ago was running to catch up with a patient, stumbled and flew into a heavy metal door handle with my glasses on. Stumbled sideways and slammed my back into the wall. Ended up with a broken nose, 2 black eyes, bruised chin, etc. Have been having pain and tension in my neck along with headaches since. Wondering if I should ask the Dr. to do xrays to make sure my plate is still intact. This happened on the job and don't want to put it off if there's a chance there might be a problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

Yes , I would get anything related to this accident/fall checked out as soon as possible.
If you delay now and end up having to prove new injuries later on WC will deny and drag it out saying it could have happened anytime since the fall.. They might say " well you didn't follow up right away so no telling where this pain/symptoms came from".. That is how the system often goes.. ![]() It may be soft tissue related , but a imaging check makes sense.. Then ask for some PT, even if soft tissue PT can do massage, ultrasound, etc, that will help with the soreness..
