Default MRI Impressions please - reverse cervical curve, thoracic perineural

Hi All - any comment on the report or images would be greatly appreciated...

Both Snoopy and Gerry suggested I post in MR I Impressions, but I couldn't find that spot ... So sort of made my own

I've had progressive pain in neck over about 18 months, increasing, spread down back and I started getting peripheral numbness, tingling, weakness, gradually dropping things. Had regular remedial massages, did stretches etc. During that time diagnosed with osteoporosis. Jump forward 18 months to request MRI last week.

Results are "mild spondylitic change within lower cervical spine where there is reversal of the normal cervical spine lordosis and mild canal stenosis."

C5/C6 there is a left posterior disc osteophyte complex measuring up to 3mm in maximal thickness with moderate narrowing of the left C5/6 neural exit foramen. There is possible irritation of the exiting left C6 nerve root.

There are several T2 hyperintense and T1 hypointense lesions within the neural exit foramina at C7/T1 T1/T2 T2/T3 and T5/T6 measuring up to 10mm in maximal diameter.

The conclusion suggests that these "may represent incidental perineureal cysts ... or benign schwannomas"

- but since the MRI was only of my cervical spine to find out why I have neck and back pain and arm numbness, tingling and weakness (especially left) - i have been called back for a full chest CT to cover the thoracic spine.

They also found that my thyroid is mildly enlarged and has a T2 hyperintense 18mm nodule! That module was ultrasounded yesterday, looks benign and will be monitored.

note that the MRI showing the reverse curve also has a normal curve next to it for comparison - mine's the reverse curve!

are these enough to explain my symptoms?

Katherine

For the C spine curve, sometimes PT can help, but the bolded part might be more your issue.
Can you describe you pain levels , locations, and what type of job ?
(desk, production/assembly= any repetitive motion or constant static positions etc)
Any past neck injuries or accidents that might be a factor?

this link may have helpful information on PT ,if repetitive job or some other soft tissue factors -
Trigger point information {TrPs} for short

I haven't worked in about 4 years, lucky to get early retirement, but was an office worker (public servant) for about 20 years, plus an avid reader and uni student (did 2 degrees part-time by correspondence while working full-time) ... Can you see a pattern here?!

no injuries, but about 18 months ago I picked up a double wooden bed on the back of my neck while having a severe chronic cluster headache. The symptoms of pain, arm weakness, finger and hand numbness and pins and needles have. Been progressively worse since then.

Did yoga for some years, plus some dancing, and qualified as a remedial massage therapist so have and received lots of treatments - did my own stretches when I thought to.
