Smile Newbie

Hi I’m new here. I’ve had a tarlov cyst since 2010 and so far have had 3 surgeries on it. I’ve also developed fibro as a direct result of the cyst. Has anyone had a similar experience to mine or can you offer me any support? I’d like to say thank you in advance to anyone that reads and replies to my post

Default Tarlov cyst

I have surgery scheduled by Dr. Feigenbaum soon. I have three cysts he's going to fix. I have genital pain, sexual dysfunction and mid thoracic back pain. I am really afraid to have this surgery. What if that's not what's causing my problems? He says they're on the nerve roots that innervate those organs. What if it makes it worse? It sounds like it can take up to two years to recover. I have a pain pump now so my quality of life isn't really really bad but I'd like to get rid of this pump. But they tell you there is much pain in the recovery process. Anyone else had a similar experience? Please advise me. Thanks!

I am also new here. I read your post with interest because I am scheduled for surgery on 3 small Tarlov cysts very soon. I am very afraid of the pain and recovery that sound terrible, and what if the surgery doesn't work or makes it worse? It sounds like your surgeries havn't been very successful plus now you have fibromyalgia. My surgeon is Dr. Feigenbaum. Who was yours? Please give me some honest advice.

Hi MamaPepper,

How did your surgery go? You seemed very anxious and I hope your expectations were met and you have successfully recovered and are now pain free.

I too contacted Dr. Feigenbaum's office in Dallas and I am considering a face to face consultation.

Please let me know if you are pleased with your recuperation and results.

Thank you.
