Thumbs up Another Newbie with Synovial Cyst @L4

Hello.

I am a 70 year old who has had a hard time walking for a few years. Kept asking for an MRI of my spine. Finally after a nightmarish pain inciden where I was bent at the waist and pain was shooting from buttons down leg to foot in the worst pain ever ever - could do noting - not even shower they finally did one.
Behold a large Synovial Cyst at ZL 4 nerve root. So says Ortho. On to Neurosurgeon. He says he’s not sure if it’s a Synovial or a Tavlor cyst and wants to do a myelogram. He said surgery. I said I’d pray about it. Have appointment with Neurosurgeon at UAB in Birmingham on March 26th for another opinion.

Had 2 injections. They have held me together and sane for about 6 weeks but feel I’m on the edge of Glory with it now. Like it’s about to break loose again.
Perish the thought.

Who has had surgery that worked ? What was recoup time? Hospital stay ?
Post op pain ? Tell me tell me. Don’t keep it a secret. 😁
