Confused Prolotherapy for tennis elbow

I got one treatment of prolotherapy for my elbow 2 weeks ago to the day. The area is still swelling and continues to be bruised. I have a constant dull pain now, alongside the sharp pain I have had with types of movement and touch. I sent a pic and description to my doc & she said this was normal. I really can't see me going through 4 sessions of this.

It also strikes me strange that others have immediate benefit from this when that was not what I was told to expect.

Any thoughts?
