Question New....hoping for some info

Hello all;

New to this forum, but not new to neuro issues.

I have been through the MRI/CAT/xray/chiro paths, results indicate nerve damage/pinching between C3 and C7. Even though its been progressing through the past six years I have only recently entertained seeing a surgeon. The first one said he wanted to try cortisone injections .... my neurologist disagreed with this so I am seeing another surgeon Oct 31st.

With the nerve impingement I have become accustomed to the random arm/foot/neck pain and numbness however today along with neck pain I am experiencing numbness in the left side of my face specifically around my mouth and cheek....this is new, never had facial pain or numbness. Could this be part and parcel of the cervical problems or is it just coincidental?

I pride myself in being a well informed patient but this has me puzzled...thanks in advance

How did your appointment go?

I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner; I just read your message .

Did the surgeon say what might be causing the numbness affecting your face?
