Unhappy Can someone help me?

I hope this is the right forum. If not, please direct me to the right one. My pain phyician surgically implanted an intrathecal pain pump into me 10/31/05 due to chronic spinal pain. Three days later I started to have neurological complications, which went untreated. The following March, I suffered 5 strokes. Since that time I have seen multiple doctors in multiple hospitals and they all say the same thing. My body seems to be having an inflammatory response to the pain pump and needs to be removed. Since the quality of my life has improved 100% since the pump was placed, needless to say I don't want to take it out. The only doctor who says it's not the pain pump is the doctor who put in.

Does anyone know anything about intrathecal pain pumps and complications (specifically strokes)? I NEED ANY KIND OF HELP!!!!!!

Thanks, Cheyenna

Cheyenna, I have read your post on several of the forums and I feel so bad for you I wis I had some answers for you only I don't.
I can understand how you feel having your pain under control and getting your life back only to turn around and have this problem start.
What kind of drs have you been seeing and what kind of dr did the implant?
As I said i wish I had some help for you and if I do find out anything I'll be sure and post to you, in the meantime I wish you the very best and send you many hugs and healing thoughts.

Default Sorry I can't help you,

But I have a simulair problem. I had a Spinal Stimulator Inplanted Oct. 25, 2005. This Tuesday I am having it removed. I too have Neuropathy and have lost the feeling in my feet. I do have Diabetes, but had none of the problems I have now. I have had 5 back surgeries and they will add to the fusions I already have, making seven. All these are serious and I have been in a lots of pain. the stimulator didn't help me any and no cooperation with adjustments. Oh they were friendly to me until they were paid and my surgeon then said that was the only thing to be done.

As it turned out I have Spondylolisthesis. I now also have had this year a Knee operation from Ortho doc that said it was my knee. By the time October rolls around I will of had three surgeries in one year. Where does it all end? These are painful and crippling type of surgeries. I say I will never have another but pain drives me to it. I keep thinking this will be my last one for sure & so far I see no end. good Luck in finding an answer

Wish I could help you Cheyenna, but sorry I can't. I sure can understand the pain tho. Maybe follow your heart is the best answer. Dr's aren't right all the time.
God bless you,
Fancylady
