Hi Linda

Just a few more days and it will be the day. I had my pre-admission tests, etc. yesterday. We talked to an anesthesologist after I was stuck, poked, etc. He's on duty that day, but wasn't sure if he will be my anesthesologist--he'll know by Tuesday.

We've orderd a hospital bed for our family room--we have a tri-level home with stairs everywhere and our family room is on the ground floor (our yard slopes). Easy access to a bathroom with shower, I'll have a small fridge and microwave on a talble in case I need to fix myself something to eat or drink, easy access to the garage and outside when I feel like going outside, etc. I'm going to borrow a shower chair, grabber, and a few other things I will need.

My daughter and future son-in-law are on their way to our house right now for a visit this weekend.

I feel resigned to this whole thing--and, actually, pretty peaceful about it. This time next week, I'll be in pain and may be sick---but it will get better.

Again, I appreciate your thoughtfulness so much, Linda. I'll let you know how things went as soon as I can.

Jan, It's so good to hear you are accepting this and feel confident that is what it takes to have a good outcome.
It also sounds that you will have good week-end and enjoy yourself and have made plenty of after care plans, just be sure and follow ALL the drs orders and even then if the dr says it's okay and your body tells you no listen to your body!!
Know that there is a lot of us out here pulling for you and many of us that may be where you are some day and interested in hearing how your progress goes.

I'll be back. I hope to be on the "giving" sign here soon. That's what support boards are good for---receiving support, but also sharing your own experience so others can benefit from it (in a positive way).

What would happen if I didn't have this surgery? Would I be paralyzed from the waist down? He didn't actually say that, but he said it was very dangerous for me to continue this way.

I just cry and cry. I'm so scared-- I don't think my family gets the enormity of the situation. My daughter is getting married in March---I want to walk down the aisle. I want to see her married. I want to live. I try to put on a brave front for my husband and I try not to act afraid, but I am so afraid.
You say this is hard to recoup from. What kind of shape will I be in following surgery? I know I'm asking impossible questions. I'm sorry.

Hi I just had a cervical epidural done for chronic pain,(and that was after taking EVERY medicine under the sun-Viccodine,Norco,Percocet,Hydrocodone,Fentanyl patches,Gaboppentin,Lyrica,anti-inflamatorries ,with NO RELEIF) 1 month ago and was left with a paralyzed left arm,headaches,sleepleess nights (Everynight) and more pain then when I got this shot.H as anyone else experienced this?

I have alot gone on with my back c-s1 but the Tspine is a lot more to deal with
This is my MRI report
A very minimal conave deformity of the inderior endplate of T7 which ia chronic and benign. There are disc degenerative changes noted at T7-T8 where there is loss of disc space height and disc desiccation observed. Disc degenerative changes anteriorly at T8-T9 with marrow endplate changes are notedas well.A posterior desiccated disc extrusion centrally is noted at T7-T8 with mild dural sac compression and no direct cord impingement. a small left paracentral extrusion is present at T10-T11 without cord impingement. At T11-T12 a right paracentral extrusion is noted. This desiccated extrusion extend slightly above the disc space measuring 2 to 3 mm in size with mild right dural sac compression and mild anterior right cord flattening without canal stenosis
