Default MRI results ????

My dr decided that i needed a mri of my back and here are the findings and i understand most of it but not all.

Minnimal bulging. Degenerative disc disease noted at L4-L5 and L5-S1.

I understnd it all but the S1.

I know that L=lumbar
and i know that cspine is the cervical spine/ the neck.

but i do not understand what the S stands for.

thanks for any information that you can give me.

Default

s=sacral. It's below the lumbar region of your spine. see http://www.back.com/anatomy-sacral.html

c=cervical (your neck)
t=thoracic (your upper back)
l=lumbar (your lower back)
s=sacral (right next to your tail bone = Coccyx)
