Hi,
I had ACDF last December (07), so I am eight months post-op. NO problems - pain is fine, back to the gym, etc. I am having trouble lately, though, with hoarseness. I can come up with no explanation other than my surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do? Thanks, Kelly |

When my neurosurgeon went over the details of ACDF with me, he had explained that hoarseness is a possibilty. It's not supposed to be permanent, yet I don't recall what he may have stated that could help.
You might want to bring it to your surgeon's attention and ask for suggestions. P.S.: When my doc told me about it, he also cited an example of how comparable effect affected one of my state's former governor's following some surgery he had. Time, I believe, was what was needed for the fmr. governor's prob. to go away.
