Yes, a discogram is a terrible thing to go through. If you truly have torn discs then it will most definitely be the most painful experience of your life. And after the test, the pain will be awful. I was in bed for 3 or 4 days bc I could not walk.
Don't do it unless you have to.

Yes a discogram is very painful. I had to have one before my lumbar fusion, 4 levels. I was given a valium but you have to be awake. They test the discs in order to find the pain generator.
