Default SI problems after lumbar fusion?

I'm just curious if any of you post-fusion folks out there have had SI degeneration...
I recently read an article and can't remember where I found it, but the results were that there were an increase in SI joint degeneration after lumbar/sacral fusions (usually L/5 S/1). My fusion was successful, and I had no real complaints for years...at least in that area. Then, I began getting this really bad pain in the buttocks(no, I don't mean my DH ) that just kept getting worse. After some injections and an RFA, I figured out that was the issue, just wondered if anyone else had this particular side-effect...

THanks

Question RFA results

Hi...I was wondering when you had your RFA...I just had one 11.15.08, and it has helped my pain more than alot of other treatments.

Hi I'm new to this forum and to all of this back lingo. Please let me know what an RFA is? Are you taking any oral medications or is your pain eliminated or tolerable?

I haven't had that fusion yet, but I had cervical fusion done at 3,4,5,6 five years ago. I now have scoliosis and khyphosis from that. Plus osteophytes, and a whole lot of radicuopathy. I guess it can happen anywhere!

I've read that others have had issues after fusions .

My theory - Since the spine is meant to bend and flex , fusing, it seems might cause more stresses to be transferred above and below - thus setting off other troubles.
this is just my own logic after reading many posts over the years.

Then again you might be misaligned and this is just something that happens to be surfacing now.
I don't know how you feel about expert chiropractors?
but a really good one might be of help, or an advanced PT person.
